1. Laser Acupuncture

A relatively new method of stimulation, laser acupuncture uses low-energy laser beams—instead of traditional acupuncture needles—to influence acupuncture points. From the cellular perspective, low-level lasers can decrease inflammation and pain. It also stimulates the regeneration of damaged tissues by increasing connective tissue activity of fibroblasts. Low level laser acupuncture techniques focus both right at the problem site, like in physiotherapy (tight or injured tissues), and at the classic meridian-type "acupoints" near and far from the problem to impact on one's constitution. It is likely that needlles and penetrating laser light work by different mechanisms. Recent research has made it clearer that different colours of laser light do different jobs. Green laser light is quickly absorbed by surface tissues such as skin and blood, and can be used for surface wounds. On the other hand, infrared lasers, the type more popular with acupuncture and physiotherapy penetrate more deeply to connective tissues like ligaments and tendons.

2. Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small, spongy herb, to facilitate healing. The purpose of moxibustion, as with most forms of traditional Chinese medicine, is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of qi, and maintain general health. In moxibustion a practitioner lights one end of a moxa stick, roughly the shape and size of a cigar, and holds it close to the area being treated for several minutes until the area turns red.

3. Aroma Therapy

Aromatherapy is the practice of using the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being. The inhaled aroma from these "essential" oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function. Aromatherapy is used to alleviate symptoms of headaches, insomnia, stress and digestive problems. Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing. A form of alternative medicine, aromatherapy is gaining momentum. It is used for a variety of applications, including pain relief, mood enhancement and increased cognitive function. There are a wide number of essential oils available, each with its own healing properties.

4. T.E.N.S.

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a therapy that uses low-voltage electrical current for pain relief. Usually, you connect two electrodes (wires that conduct electrical current) from the machine to your skin. The electrodes are often placed on the area of pain or at a pressure point, creating a circuit of electrical impulses that travels along nerve fibers. People use TENS to relieve pain for several different types of illnesses and conditions. They use it most often to treat muscle, joint, or bone problems that occur with illnesses such as osteoarthritis or fibromyalgia, or for conditions such as low back pain, neck pain, tendinitis, or bursitis.

5. Physiotherapy

Physical therapy or physiotherapy (often abbreviated to PT) is a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialty that remediates impairments and promotes mobility, function, and quality of life through examination, diagnosis, prognosis, and physical intervention. Physiotherapy is a healing method focused on mobility. Physiotherapists help patients regain mobility, as far as possible. They assess, diagnose and treat disabilities. From back pain, neck pain, knee pain, and ligament issues to Parkinson’s, Paralysis, Cerebral Palsy, and more. At Jaswal Clinic, we provide IFT, Ultrasound & Tractions and speed up the physiotherapy.
